Program Structure

Access to study material

The chaplaincy course is a 20-hour training program in English & you receive certification after completion.

You will complete 8 content courses in Chaplaincy.  All coursework and your exam is designed to be completed in the self-study format.


ICAN also, licenses and ordains those interested after you complete the certification training. Therefore, be sure to complete the licensing or/and ordination application form to apply for these credentials. See more details below about: receiving credentials.


INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS OUTSIDE THE US AND CANADA WILL RECEIVE THEIR CERTIFICATION CERTIFICATE VIA EMAIL

Please note that your entire course program is a self-study. You decide when to study. Links to study materials and videos will be sent to your email or whatsapp after you purchase the course.

The program is asynchronous meaning that there is no specific time that you must be online.

Are you ready to be commissioned to effectively serve your community?

International Chaplains Alliance Network (ICAN) trained Chaplains receive a certificate and ID card that demonstrate their readiness to serve people in crisis.


Your Chaplain membership also enrolls you in an international network alliance of like-minded ministers and servants, which includes exclusive opportunities for ongoing training, programs, and seminars to continue learning and growing in your ability to impact your community.


STEPS TO RECEIVING YOUR CREDENTIALS


After completing our world-class self-study training program and receive a certificate, interested candidates Licensing or Ordination may submit an application for credentials.  An interview is required for all applicants who wish to be licensed and/or ordained.  After ICAN receives your application, a member of our credentialing team will contact you to set up a phone interview.

ICAN, offers Ordination for Licensed Chaplains, and those who qualify.  If you are already a licensed Chaplain or demonstrate and interest in ministry with a desire to serve others and would like to apply for ordination for (pastor or minister, youth pastor/leader/women pastor/minister/leader, please use this form to apply.

4. Criminal history report

5. Pastor or Overseer recommendation

6. Payment of one-time $100 Application fee. 

7. Up-to-Date Personal Resume

8. List of Community or ministerial Service experiences

9. Copy of Certificate of Completion from ICAN Chaplaincy Course

10. Recommendation letters from two professional people

11. Copy of valid driver’s license

12. Two passport photos

13. If previously Licensed: Copy of Ministerial License and/or Ordination

14. Recommendation of a Chaplain

15. Information of your current location.
